This morning I passed the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 – Application Development exam with 809 out of 1000 points with a passing score of 700. The 55 questions mostly concerned the SP API, feature deployment and security. I was a bit surprised to see two questions regarding records management that I would have thought was part of the MOSS exam. And also a question where the correct answer was using members that is marked obsolete: the RegisterHiddenField method and the RequestFromAdminPort property.

Well today I passed the Microsoft test 70-630 that certifies me as ‘Technology Specialist in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Configuring’. That’s a definite double-whoa!

Compared to the 70-631 it has less peripherical stuff but concentrates more on the server, its site templates, upgrading and handing out the right credentials to users.

Today I passed the Microsoft test 70-631 that certifies me as ‘Technology Specialist in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Configuring’, whoa!

It is clealy a new test, e.g. I was presented with the exact same question twice, and some of the questions were more about guessing the questioner’s thoughts than about exact knowledge about SharePoint knowledge. The questions range from network security, over ISA, SQL and MOM right down to views in the WSS recycle bin.

As preparation I have worked with SharePoint for 8 months and read sections of the Office SharePoint Server 2007 Administrator’s Compation.

So in abbreviations I’m now MCP, MCDBA, MCSD and MCTS
